The Process...
Digital design can be a smooth process, when there is a clear understanding of what the client wants - and doesn't want - up front. To assess client needs, the designer needs to know the answers to the following questions:

-
Who is your target audience, and what message do you want to communicate?
-
How will this design be used (i.e., internet distribution, direct mail, handouts, branding, etc.)?
-
Are there any specific colors or imagery you would like to be used?
-
What is the deadline for project completion?
The more the designer knows up front, the better the outcome for all parties involved.
What happens when there is a designer-client communication disconnect? Endless revisions, frustration, additional charges, etc.
